Rural Space
The Andalusi rural environment was developed beyond the city in the extramural suburbs with its markedly different environs. Thanks to Islamic influence, agricultural techniques were decisively developed. The succession of wisely irrigated fruit and vegetable gardens in the fertile plains and valleys became the usual landscape, where there was no knowledge of irrigation techniques older than those of Islamic societies. The countless mills bear witness to the preponderance of cereal and flour in the diet of the Andalusis. A farmhouse is reproduced in Ciudad Al-ManSur with its enclosures, tools and tilling equipment, crops and domestic animals (ducks, hens, goats, donkeys, and so forth).
